Passengers Can Now Declare 75 P.c of Ticket Fare in Case Downgraded by Airline, Here is How

Aviation regulator Directorate Common of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday amended guidelines on amenities to be supplied to passengers by airways resulting from denied boarding, cancellation of flights and delays in flights.

The modification will enable the passenger, who’s downgraded involuntarily and is carried in a category decrease than that for which the ticket is bought, to be reimbursed by the airline.

For the home sector, the reimbursement can be 75 per cent of the price of the ticket together with taxes.

For the Worldwide Sector, it is going to be 30 per cent of the price of ticket together with taxes for flights of 1500 km or much less, 50 per cent of the price of ticket together with taxes for flights between 1500 km to 3500 km and 75 per cent of the price of ticket together with taxes for flights greater than 3500 km.

“DGCA has amended its Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) Part-3, Collection M Half IV Services to be supplied to passengers by airways resulting from denied boarding, cancellation of flights and delays in flights to strengthen the rights of air travellers affected by downgrading of their ticket,” mentioned the aviation regulator.
