A person was arrested for allegedly falsely tweeting {that a} flight going from Dubai to Jaipur had been hijacked, police mentioned on Thursday.
The incident happened on Wednesday.
Moti Singh Rathore, a resident of Nagaur in Rajasthan, arrived on the Indira Gandhi Worldwide Airport after a Dubai-Jaipur was diverted to Delhi resulting from dangerous climate, Deputy Commissioner of Police (airport) Ravi Kumar Singh mentioned.
The flight landed at 9:45 am and was given clearance to depart at 1:40 pm. In the meantime, Rathore tweeted “flight highjack”, the police mentioned.
Rathore was offloaded from the flight along with his bag and the flight was allowed to go away after the required checks. He was handed over to the native police for additional motion, they mentioned.
The accused informed police that he posted the tweet as he was pissed off over the flight being stranded, they added.
A case was registered within the matter and Rathore was arrested, the police mentioned.
